The purpose here is to begin a list of Star Wars locations in which you'd like to see a map. Big and small, there are a ton of different sectors of the galactic map to be used.
A couple that I will be working on:
Imperial Remnant Space (Pentastar Alignment Space) - medium map, Empire vs. Empire vs. Alliance (FFA), or possibly 2vs2 Empire vs Sins races
The Gordian Reach Sector (Yavin) - small map, Empire vs. Alliance, recreating (Sins style!) the build up to the military action from Episode IV
The Javin Sector (Hoth/Bespin) - small map, Empire vs. Alliance, ...Empire Strikes Back anyone?
Lets get this new sub-forum going! I'll be moderating the Campaigns and Standalone Maps forum, and I'd like to know what kind of maps people would like to see in Req 3.

The map setup should be such that the faction choice doesn't matter, it more of the design/layout of the map that's important so if you want to recreate a SW battle you can. The point is that the map will ressemble actual references (aka the Atlas) from lore. Just have some recommended settings you know... *ahem* (in my best gameshow announcer voice) "for the most immersive star wars experience, set team 1 as Imperial and team 2 as Alliance, for a regular sins map select the factions as desired"

First thing is what to do about GalaxyForge... still no suppot for Diplomacy really... and for the life of me I can't get the Alliance and Empire into the event triggers without getting a runtime Java error :(

Thrawn's campaign stretched right across the galactic map, he was everywhere, and with a surprisingly small amount of ships. But your right about that era being the best representation of when the Alliance and Empire (Remnant) were the closest.
Bilbringi jumps out to me as a major Thrawn battle (being of course the decisive battle of his career), but since in lore it took place only really in one system, we'd have to do some creative expansion of the story.

You would have to ask Jason, if he has a mesh and creates the entity file for a black hole, then its pretty straightforwrd to include in it map development and ingame. Although I'm not sure how we'd incorporate it into the game other than purely a visual thing (aka a visual "nice to have ").
