Mood So, Disney buys Lucas Arts.

I won't lie, all the fears I had about Disney buying Marvel came to nothing. But this hits closer to heart, especially if this so called new "Episode 7" rewrites all the history after Endor established by Games and Books. Also, there's serious risk Disney might change LucasArts so far tolerant policy to noncommerical fan projects like this one. Thoughts?

Personally I was fine without any more, I just hope they do their own thing with these in some new place on the timeline like with KOTOR.

I actually hope for Thrawn, though new actors would be weird. They could do something in the Legacy series, where everyone is old....

They're also doing a new tv series. maybe this means live action, and I will have something to replace my stargate fix.

Yeah. I was hoping for some faithful animated/CGI trilogy of Thrawn, a bit like Batman: Under the Red Hood for example, or maybe looking something like this. I think a live action movie would likely try and change too much.

A serious live action TV show would be great, and if they don't rewrite the entire post Endor timeline with Episode 7 and do this, I might support this deal after all.

Sorry guys, but wouldn't Episode 7 simply tell the story of the third trilogy? Where Luke re-establishes the Jedi order, etc...? I thought Episodes 7-9 were already canon?

there are a lot of canon explansions in the EU. The question is where Disney will choose to start. And Thrawn happens before the rebirth of the Jedi order.

That's the problem Gtut, we already know how Luke restablishes the Jedi order and how the New Republic comes about. But of they're going to make movies out of it, they're certainly going to change things and screw up the timeline. The books that explain it are canon, but they're not a third trilogy (heck, it's a lot more than 3 books to show that).

@Jack

Never ask that question. I'm sure many people asked that before ME3.

Im really hoping for a decent live action of the Thrawn trilogy. All the space battles in it will be awesome. Im hoping disney will go all out and make a great 3 hour movie each in an effort to make lots of money

then again with movies now adays it will be alot of 30 minute fistfights and 10 minutes worth of action and 10 mins worth of honest space battles

Hmm, the magic in a Thrawn battle is the tactics, and tactics don't go over well with movie audiences. Not the sort that mainstream SW fans would enjoy watching. It would just show the New Republic getting their teeth kicked in with no explanation, I think.
