Mod Developing Folder Linking

  1. When a new release comes out, run the game in developer mode and go to Options->Mods to create the new developer folder.
  2. Copy the name of this new developer folder.. then delete it.
  3. Open a priveliged MS-DOS prompt in the parent folder of the folder you just deleted.
  4. Use the following command to link the current developer folder to whereever you prefer to keep your mod files

    e.g.

    mklink /D "Mods-Rebellion v1.031 Dev" "Y:\Mods\Sins\Rebellion\Live"

In my case, I keep all my mod files in the folder Y:\Mods\Sins\Rebellion\Live". So each time a new version is released through Steam, I simply follow the above steps to make sure the game mods folder points to my development area.
